All of our games are primarily designed for use at adult dinner parties, and therefore contain plots and themes of an adult nature. However, there is nothing obviously explicit or offensive in the games. Whilst the games do contain humour etc of a risque nature, it is mostly done with double-entendres and subtle, oblique references, so that the games can be enjoyed on several levels by a wide variety of people.
Each party can choose to accentuate, or not, this side of the game.
However, we would suggest that the 'English' game, 'Power, Plots and Pistols' contains slightly more jokes & content of a risque nature than the other games (and is probably not suitable for younger teen parties), - but again, the references are done in a humourous manner and are not offensive in any way.
Please contact us if you have any further concerns in this area.
The teen versions of our Pirate and Halloween games are aimed at 12-16 year olds. Although they contain the same basic script/contents as the adult game, the Q&As are all written in the 1st person ("Blaise, why did you go to...") whereas the adult version has the Q&As in the 2nd person (Ask Blaise why she went...).
The 1st person teen version is easier to play, as players do not need to translate the question in their heads into 1st person speech - but the adult version encourages a less 'prescribed' approach and more ad-libbing.
'Home-Use' only:
Ace Murder Mystery Games are licensed for home-use only, in a similar way to CDs or DVDs.
This prohibits their use by both commercial and not-for-profit organisations*.

* Larger Party License:
Commercial organisations (or non-profit organisations with an audience of over 20) wishing to use one of our games should contact us to discuss the possibility of obtaining a 'large-party license':
Copyright:
All of our images and text (including our genuine customer reviews) are subject to copyright protection and may not be copied and / or used / adapted in any way.
All of our artwork is by the talented Canadian artist Kagan McLeod. However, the copyright resides with Ace Murder Mystery.
Use of our images by other websites is never permitted, and such use is liable to prosecution, especially in instances where the stolen image replaces our own on the search engine 'image' searches, and therefore damages our business.
Murder mystery weekends / nights:
Ace Murder Mystery is now offering small hotels and B&Bs the option of
using our games to host murder mystery nights (for groups < 15 people),
without the need to employ a group of murder mystery actors.
This allows the mystery players the chance to enjoy our great games in an
environment where the food, themed room and accommodation are all supplied.
Format: players will normally arrive at the hotel, change
into their costumes in their rooms, and then assemble in a separate 'party room'
(decorated to theme) to play the game, whilst the hotel serves the food as the game
progresses. The game format is the same as the normal 'home-use' versions, with
participants reading the various Q&As from their scripted booklets (minimal
intervention by hotel staff is required).
Hoteliers: all of our 'standard' games are licensed for 'home-use' only,
and they cannot be played (regardless of who purchases the game) in any establishments
such as pubs, clubs, hotels, B&Bs, restaurants etc. Any such establishment
seeking to use our games must purchase their game under the
'hotel license' ordering option.
Players: a list of venues using Ace Murder Mysteries can be found here

Each of our games employs two optional characters to allow for flexible party sizes. However, these two parts, although being non-suspects, have full partipating roles if present, rather than being entirely superficial to the game (as with some other m.m. games).
They have Introductions and Conclusions, lines in the Acting Scenes and important Questions to ask in each round, but if they are not present, their lines pass seemlessly to other indicated characters.
We have taken great care with all of our optional characters to fully integrate them into the games, in order to avoid these players possibly feeling like non-contributing 'observers', with noticeably 'lesser roles'.
However, we might suggest that with parties of 9-10, that hosts might like to consider taking these roles themselves in order that:
However, hosts may sometimes feel that one/two of their guests would actually prefer to take a non-suspect role if they are, for example, first time players, or perhaps a little reserved, or they may be called away at some point.
Extra Guests: although our games are designed for 8-10 players, we have heard that a few extra guests have been successfully accommodated at some parties by hosts just observing (no booklet) or players 'doubling-up' (speaking alternate lines).
